Magneto Therapy- Information

 What is Magneto Therapy:

          Magneto therapy is an art of healing through magnets. The magnet relieves distressing symptoms of many diseases and cures them without medicine. It is a forgotten ancient system of treatment, which is being revived now. Magnetic treatment works by reviving, reforming and promoting growth of cells, rejuvenating tissues and increasing the number of sound blood corpuscles. Function of Autonomic nerves are normalised and internal organs controlled by them regain their proper functions. It is also beneficial for mental retardation and weak memory. Magnetic emanations pass through the tissues and secondary currents are induced.  These currents produce impacting heat, which reduces pains and swellings. Properties of water change when it is brought in contact with Magnetic field. Blood is also similarly influenced and gets ionised. It flows more easily, improving circulation and avoiding clotting. Magnetic emanation exercise positive effect on the haemoglobin of blood and removes excess of calcium, cholesterol, etc. Magnetic treatment thus helps maintain homoeostasis of the body. One feels in full vigour and vitality often magnetic treatment. Each MAGNET has two poles. NORTH and SOUTH and each pole have its own characteristics.

Types of Magnet:

Artificial magnets are of two types: permanent magnets and electro- magnets. Permanent magnets remain magnetised permanently, once they have been fully charged with electric current. Electro- magnets work only when they are connected with electricity and such magnets are switched on and off with the switching on and off of the electric current. The healing purpose of magnetotherapy is best served by permanent magnets, as electromagnets essentially suffer from fluctuations.

 Permanent Magnets:

            Permanent magnets are made from a wide range of materials, iron being the main. But commonly an alloy called Alnico composed of aluminium, nickel, iron and cobalt in differing proportions, is used for making permanent magnets. In addition, some magnets are made from a synthetic material prepared from oxides of ferric and barium and are called ceramic, ferrite or graphite magnets or simply ceramic magnets. Magnets from both these materials are made in a number of shapes and sizes as needed. Some of them are bar shaped, some are cylindrical, some of them are bar shaped, some are cylindrical, some cylindrical and with or without holes, some are ring- shaped, or rectangular, with holes or without holes, some are crescent like or U- shaped or horse- shoe- shaped, square with holes or without holes, etc. In Magnetic treatment, cylindrical shaped magnets of Alnico and crescent shaped magnets of ceramic materia mostly are used.

 Unique Properties:

            The magnetism has several peculiar features. These are as under:

1.                  Every magnet, big or small, even the tiniest, must have two poles- north pole and south pole- just like two poles of the earth. If a bar magnet is cut or broken into two or a number of pieces, each piece will immediately become an independent magnet with both the poles at both ends. The power of magnetism in a magnet is at its highest at its two poles but lowest at the midline equidistant from the two poles.

2.                   Opposite poles attract each other but like poles repel. If north and south poles of two magnets are confronted with each other, they will be found clamouring for a union but if the same poles are brought together they will run away from each other.

3.                  The third feature concerns the concept of magnetic lines of force. The region covered by the lines of force around the magnet is called its magnetic field.

4.                  The strength of a magnetic field is subject to the strength of the magnet, but irrespective of the strength of the magnet the expanse of the magnetic field is always infinite, just like the bigger and bigger rings created by sound in space. The grip of a magnetic field continuously weakens with the distance from the magnet but it never ends or becomes non- existent.

 Measurement of sterength:

            The strength of a magnet or its magnetic field is measured by an instrument called magnetometer or gaussmeter in gauss units or oersted. This instrument is generally available only in laboratories, the strength of a magnet is commonly measured in terms of the iron weight it can lift. A magnet which can lift 2 lbs. of its is of about 500- 600 gauss power.  The other with lifting capacity of 5 lbs. will be of about 900- 1,250 gauss, of 25 lbs. close to 2500 gauss and 50 lbs. will be between 3,500 and 4,500 gauss. In magnet- treatment magnets of 1,500 to 3,000 gauss power are applied to big muscles or to strong part of body e.g. hands, back hips, knees, legs, feet etc., and also in case of chronic diseases like rheumatism, but magnets of about 500 gauss power are only applied to delicate parts like eyes, temples, nose, throat etc. In cases of small children and infants also only these weak magnets are used. 

 Uses of North Pole (N) of the Magnets:

             The NORTH pole kills germs and stops the activity of Bacteria. Hence it is applied on Boils, Eczema, Glands, Rashes of skin, ulcers, cancer etc. where some infection is suspected to be working at the root of the disease. The North pole (N) is giving resistance to our body. It destroys the micro pathogens. It controls the excessive and aggressive growth. It reduces the Vascularity. It is having cooling effect. Therefore we can use this for non- healing ulcers, sore, itching. It is useful for controlling body temperature and stopping the bleeding by cooling. It heals the wounds and prevents the pus formation. For burns also it is used. To relieve the itching and to heal the burns it is used widely. It also arrests the cataract formation in the eyes.

  Uses of South Pole (S) of the Magnets:

             The SOUTH pole provides energy, gives strength and removes Pain and Swelling, regularises the circulation of blood. It is therefore used for relieving headache, Pains Stiffness and Swelling on all parts of the body and regulates all types of Blood Pressure. The South pole (S) is increases the energy of the body. It will warm the body. It stimulates the growth. In tired persons, it increases the blood flow and give refresh ness. It is used to reduce the pain also. When kept on the painful swellings, as the blood flow is stimulated, the pain is reduced. Because it stimulates the blood flow, the degradative products of metabolism are excreted without being trapped inside the body. It relieves the sprain also.

 Uses of Both Poles of the Magnets:

             All the diseases of the body occur due to reduced immunity and infecting organisms. When we use both the poles together they increase the immunity and kill the pathogenic micro- organisms. So this treatment protects the body from the diseases and cures the diseases.

 Five Methods of Magnetic Treatment:

             Method I: North Pole under the palm of the right- hand and South Pole under the palm of the left hand. Used for treating ailments of the upper half of the body, as arthritis of hands, paralytic weakness, pain, swelling, stiffness of neck, arms, wrist and hands, asthma, bronchitis, heart troubles, etc.

             Method II: North Pole under the palm of the right- hand and South Pole under the sole of the left foot. This diagnal application affects liver, spleen, stomach and intestines. Has a curative effect on the digestive system and cures gastric troubles, etc.

             Method III: North Pole under the palm of the left- hand and South Pole under the sole of the left foot. For treating the left- sided ailments like paralysis, polio, general weakness, etc.

             Method IV: North Pole under the palm of the right- hand and South Pole under the sole of the right foot. For treating the right- sided ailments like paralysis, polio, general weakness, etc.

             Method V: North Pole under the sole of the right- foot and South Pole under the sole of the left foot. Used for treating ailments of the lower part of the body, including arthritis of feet and ankles, gout, irregular or low circulation of blood in the legs, etc.

             The above five methods are considered sufficient to cover a maximum number of illness. However variations and departure are mostly likely to occur according to the needs of situation.

MAGNET THERAPY APPLICATORS

 A. 1.    President Magnets:For chronic ailments of adults and preparing large quantity of magnetised water and oils. They can be used under palms or soles for 5 to 10 minutes at a time- once or twice a day. 

A. 2.    High Power Magnets: (Cast alloy magnets, diameter 10 cm, height 4.5 cm, Iron weight- lifting capacity- 10 Kg, used for adults)

 For Arthritis, Backache, Cervical Spondylitis, Diseases of Bones, Eczema, Injuries, Menstrual Disorders and Uterine Fibroids, Numbness, Paralysis, Polio, Rheumatism, Sciatica, Sprains, Swelling, Toothache,  For preparing magnetised water, liquids and oils.

 They can be used under palms or soles, for local applications, on the other parts of the body (except delicate ones) for 10 to 20 minutes at a time- once or twice a day.

 A. 3.    Medium Power Magnets: (Cast alloy magnets, diameter 8 cm, height 3 cm, Iron weight- lifting capacity- 5 Kg, used for boys and girls up to 16 years)

 Arthritis, Boils, Diseases of Bones, Eczema, Injuries, Numbness, Polio, Rheumatism, Stiffness, Swelling etc. For hypersentive persons and children. They can be used under palms or soles, for local applications, on the other parts of the body (except delicate ones) for 10 to 20 minutes at a time- once or twice a day.

 Method of using High Power Magnet or Medium Power Magnet:

It should always be kept on a wooden platform if not in use. These are 2 rounded magnets named North pole (right side) and South pole (left side). These magnets can be used by applying South Pole (S) on body for relieving pains of the joints. North Pole (N) should be applied for itching, Skin diseases, Wounds, Pus and on face after shave, for tooth cavity & toothache. High Power should be kept away from all Electronic gadgets such as T.V. Fridge etc.

High Power Magnets can be used for anyone above 12 years of age. Medium Power Magnets are used for children between the ages of 3 and 12 years.

By keeping the magnets North pole (N) in the right hand and South pole (S) in the left hand for 15 minutes in the morning as well as in the evening, the disorders of the upper part of the body will get corrected. Healthy persons can get prophylaxis against diseases by using them for 5 minutes daily.

Details of using are:

i.                     For treating ailments of the upper half of the body North pole (N) under the palm of the right hand and South pole (S) under the palm of the left hand.

ii.                   For shoulder pain and stiffness of shoulder North pole (N) right side and South pole (S) left side on the affected portion.

iii.                  For spinal cord pain North pole (N) upper side and South pole (S) lower side of spinal cord.

iv.                 For stomach pain, ulcer, constipation, dysentery, obesity, hernia, dyspepsia, gastric troubles, North pole (N) right side and South pole (S) lower side on Lower stomach.

v.                   For leg pain and sciatica (right leg or left leg), North pole (N) on the hip and South pole (S) under the sole of affected leg.

vi.                 For knee pains, osteoarthritis, rheumatism, gout, swelling and stiffness of knees,  North pole (N) outer side and South pole (S) inner side of affected knee.

vii.                For pain in one foot (right foot or left foot), North pole (N) upper part of foot and South pole (S) under the sole.

viii.              For both leg pain, North pole (N) under the right sole and South pole (S) under the left sole.

            For above each method, should keep 15 minutes only treating by High Power (or) Medium power magnet.

 B.        Low Power Ceramic Magnets: (Crescent Ceramic magnets, length 4.5 cm, width 3 cm, height 1.5 cm, used for curved organs such as eyes, ears, nose, throat etc and for children up to 3 years)

For diseases of Infants, Children and Adults, e.g. Tonsillitis, Sinusitis, Nasal Polypus, Migrane, Headache, Insomnia. They can be applied locally on Forehead, Nose, Ear, Eyes, Temples, Throat for 10 to 20 minutes at a time- once or twice a daily.

C.        Premier Magnets (Pair/ Single): For ailments of Neck, Shoulders, Arms, Back, Thighs, knees, Diseases of Bones and Injuries, Cervical Spondylitis, Lumbago, Arthritis, Diabetes Mellitus, Slipped Disc, Polio etc. They can be applied locally on Forehead, Nose, Ear, Eyes, Temples, Throat for 10 to 15 minutes at a time- once or twice a daily.

D.        Electromagnet (Small/ Big): For all acute and chronic diseases of Bones, Skin and severe Pain, Arthritis, Asthma, Backache, Fracture, Gout, Paralysis, Sciatica, slipped Disc, Spondylitis, Pain, Stiffness, Swelling etc. It can be use with a piece/ pair of Premier Magnet locally for 10 to 15 minutes at a time- once or twice a day.

Method of Using Low Power Magnets:

These are curved ones hence can be used for ear, nose, throat, eye problems. North pole (N) is kept on abscess, will cause extrusion of pus. If the abscess is a small one that can be aborted from growing big. South pole (S) kept in the middle part of the forehead will induce sleep. E.N.T. Magnets are specifically prepared for all sorts of Ear, Nose, Throat problems e.g. Sinus Cold, Tonsils, Sore Throat and pain in Ear. Both North (N) and South (S) are to be used together externally for 10 to 15 minutes on both sides of nose for sinus, cold, blocked nose twice or thrice a day as the case may be. South (S) should be used for pain swelling and North (N) should be used for wound itching, Cavity of teeth etc.

Low Power Magnets can be used for anyone even newborns also.

Details of using are:

i.                     For headache, migraine North pole (N) right side and South pole (S) left side.

ii.                   For eye pain, redness, watering, swelling, initial stages of cataract and for improving vision, North pole (N) right side and South pole (S) left side on the eyeslids.

iii.                  For cold problems in nose, sneezing, watering, polypus, blockage, sinu- sitis, North pole (N) right side of nose and South pole (S) left side of the nose.

iv.                 For boils in ears, deafness, discharge, earache, inflammation, North pole (N) right side of ear and South pole (S) left side of ear.

v.                   For cough, tonsillitis, irritation, throat pain, North pole (N) on the right side and South pole (S) left side of throat.

vi.                 For insomnia, weak memory, to keep South pole (S) on the forehead.

            For above each method, should keep 15 minutes only treating by Low power magnet.

 E. 1.     Head Belt: It is used to wear around the head. Magnetic head belt is found very useful in all kinds of headaches, Mental Tension, Migraine, mental fatigue, sleeplessness, fits and mental retardations, insominia. It can be applied for 20 to 30 minutes at a time, twice a day. When first worn few persons may feel heaviness in the head. These people have to wear the belt for just few minutes in the initial days and thereafter increase the duration in the subsequent days. In 15 days body will become accustomed to the magnetic waves. It is better to wear it during sleeping. This belt is very useful as it saves you from taking various tablets which are having side effects.

 E. 2.     Throat Belt: It is used to wear around the throat. It is found useful for problems like throat pain, tonsillitis, goitre etc. It can be applied for 20 to 30 minutes at a time and for some more time daily.

 E. 3.     Blood Pressure Belt/ Bracelets: The hand inner side or wrist in contact with blood vessel (radial artery) the deposits in the wall of artery are dissolved. So blood flow is improved.  

Those with high blood pressure should wear this in the right hand at the inner side of the wrist. By wearing in the right hand

Those with low blood pressure should wear this in the left hand at the inner side of the wrist.

 This can be worn from minimum 6 hours to even full day.

E. 4.     Diabetes belt or Multipurpose Belt:  This is used for diabetes and also for abdominal pain, low back pain, neck pain, joint pain. For diabetes, this belt has to be worn for 6 hours on the left side of the abdomen daily. For abdominal pain, joint pain, etc. the belt has to be worn in appropriate place for 6 hours.

E. 5.     Backache & Obesity Belt: For back pain it should be worn for 2 hours after toilet. Before using it, four drops of oil should be applied on the affected part and then with a small messager, it should be rubbed well. Thereafter, the belt should be used.

Obesity belt should be worn for 2 hours daily. This increases the blood- flow to the abdominal wall and dissolves the excessive calcium and cholesterol deposits on the wall of the blood vessels. It relieves the digestive problems, such as constipation and low back pain. If worn in the upper part of the abdomen, it prevents stone- formation in the kidney. It also relieves nephritic pain. If worn in the lowermost part of the abdomen, the Prostatic problems would be relieved. If women wear it on the lowermost part of the abdomen, ovarian disorders and menstrual disorders are corrected. The uterus is strengthened. It gives a comfort look for the ladies. 

E. 6.     Knee Cap (belt): This belt, if worn for at least 5 hours a day, gives curative relief from swelling of the joints, pain and stiffness of the joints. This increases the blood- flow in the joints. So, the joint turn painless.     

 E. 7.     Neck Spondylosis Belt: It is used to wear around the neck for at least 5 hours in a day. Sprains, spondylitis etc. can be treated with this belt.

 F.         Magnetic Necklaces (Asthma Chain): This has to be worn all the time except during bathing. This reduces secretion in the lungs. So, it gives relief from dyspnoea. This is also used for allaying chest pain, neck pain.

 H.        Magnetic Spectacles: This has to be used for 20 minutes daily in the morning and evening. This proves curative in watering eyes, visual disturbances, redness of eyes, visual disturbances, redness of eyes and irritation. This has to be used according to the general principle- North pole (N) on the right side. South pole (S) in the left side. If there happens to be any kind of growth in the eyes, then both magnets have to be changed to North pole (N) to control the growth.
